Welcome to Parrot Haven Aviary's  web pages. I have tried to produce a web site that is beneficial to all aviculturists.

Parrot Haven Aviary specialise in Hand Reared Baby Parrots. All babies are bred at Parrot Haven Aviary and reared in a family environment, our baby Parrots are completely at ease with other family members and pets.

Each baby has a birth certificate and literature containing all the information needed to ensure each pet Parrot stays healthy, happy and free from stress.

Our baby Parrots make the ultimate companion bird and the perfect pet.

Parrot Haven Aviary is a commercial aviary owned and operated by my wife Lyn and myself (Garry Lee.) Parrot Haven Aviary is devoted to producing only hand reared companion parrots for the companion and pet parrot owners of Australian. 

Our babies have been raised by their parents until they are around 10 days of age. They are then removed from the nest for hand rearing by us and placed in humidity cribs (like in the hospital). All of our babies are fed hand rearing formula (commercially made) from a spoon, this allows for more human contact and a much quieter, loving and devoted companion in the end, not afraid to be handled by people.

Lynette and I fuss over our babies as though they were our own children, so much that we use the phrase "mummy and daddy" when talking to them (no we are not totally mad, but totally devoted to our babies and the enjoyment that they can and do give us while raising them.)

No parrot is sold by Parrot Haven Aviary until it is fully weaned. Many people have experienced heart ache by purchasing unweaned baby parrots to hand  feed and to wean themselves, only to have the baby die.

Hand rearing and weaning is not an easy task to take on and do successfully. Special procedures and equipment are requires, you may be told different by the person wonting to sell the unweaned parrot to you, but it is true. It is also illegal to sell a parrot that is not fully weaned, and capable of feeding its self.

Parrot Haven Aviary is located at Nemingha near Tamworth, in the state of New South Wales, Australia.

	Our Parrots are:
	Hand-reared exclusively as Companion Parrots.
	All of our baby companion parrots are spoon fed (not crop fed as in a production line.) Each baby has a lot of time spent with it individually, and fussed over at  feed time making them feel part of a human family. They are also educated in the basics of handling and talking.
	All Parrot Haven Aviary's companion parrots may be accompanied with a veterinarian health certificate, at a fee from our Avian Veterinarian, Dr Chris Collins, if requested by the purchaser.
	We supply an Information brochure with each purchase, on how to care for you new companion parrot.
	Air freight can be arranged to any where within Australia on behalf of the new companion parrot owner.
	Our Companion Parrot Guarantee All baby companion parrots breed by Parrot Haven Aviary, are fully weaned before released to their new owner. Parrot Haven Aviary encourages you to have the baby companion parrot examined by our avian veterinarian  Dr Chris Collins before it leaves our aviary. After the examination Dr Collins will issue a health certificate. You may elect to use your own avian veterinarian for the health check. If you choose not to have a health check performed before your companion parrot leaves Parrot Haven Aviary, or by your own avian veterinarian during the 72-hour period after your new companion arrives, the health guarantee is void. All guarantees are void for birds whose leg band has been removed. If the companion parrot is found to have a condition which affects its health or well-being within the 72 hour guarantee period, Parrot Haven Aviary agrees to either refund the entire purchase price or replace the companion parrot with one of the same species and age if available. The baby companion parrot must be returned to Parrot Haven Aviary accompanied with your Avian Veterinarian's report, and verified by Dr Chris Collins before replacements or refunds can take place.
